Barnstable Sea Farms has been producing some of the best regional shellfish for nearly 25 years. We’ve had a good try at growing quahogs, steamers and sea clams, but in the end it’s all about the oysters.
We have 2 sites in Barnstable Harbor, and one in Osterville, so we can produce and harvest our oysters year-round.
We supply our oysters to a small number of local restaurants and regional wholesalers. We are fortunate in being able to choose our customers and sell to people who we enjoy dealing with and restaurants where we like to eat.
We have always grown our shellfish in a sustainable manner and observe the “Best Management Practices” of the industry. We are happy to say that we leave the ocean cleaner than we found it; shellfish are filter feeders and actually cleanse the water as they grow!
